Thy Will Be Done

This is my go to prayer – when I am anxious – angry – sad – excited. I am not always good at giving it over to God. But I am trying. A few months back, I joined a ladies bible study with some AMAZING women. The study is Ephesians 6:10-19, putting on the Armor…

This is my go to prayer – when I am anxious – angry – sad – excited. I am not always good at giving it over to God. But I am trying.

A few months back, I joined a ladies bible study with some AMAZING women. The study is Ephesians 6:10-19, putting on the Armor of God.

This study encouraged the development of prayer strategies to strengthen the armor and add an extra layer of protection. I have never been one to be specific in my prayers – God knows what I need right? Absolutely he does, but do I?

At the recommendation of one of my Bible Study friends, I have been reading another study, Fervent. A guide to being specific about prayer. No so much so that God knows where I am broken and need repair but so that I see and understand my own brokenness. So good and so meaningful.

But some days are heavy and I don’t really know what is making my heart heavy or clouding my mind. Life, stress, fatigue…? On those days, a quick look heavenward with the prayer, Lord, Thy Will Be Done.

Another one of my lovely Bible Study friends, shared this song by Hillary Scott. This really hit home and touched my heart. It is on the top of my favorites list. Easy to access when I need a breath or a fresh start. Today is a day I needed to hear this.
