SPOILER ALERT!!!
Rating: 5 Stars – Keeping the hardcover!
One of my current favorite books. I LOVE Kate Quinn. If you enjoy a story based on historical fact consider giving this book a read. Based in Europe during wartime. A time where in many cultures women were seen and not heard, the fairer sex not fit for armed service or war. Mila Pavlichenko is not a typical women, her war efforts make her a heroine. As can be imagined for a women warrior in the late 1930’s she must overcome bias and prove her place. But prove her place she does. This book is based on historical facts. This character did actually live quite an amazing and (I imagine) hard life.
Questions to consider when reading:
1- Could I tolerate all that Mila had to overcome to do her job.
2- Would you have been able to find love in her circumstances?
3- Were you surprised by any historic figures and their friendships?
4- Imagine being Mila could you be so efficient?
5- How did Mila’s role effect her life?
